This camp is designed to build self-esteem in girls ages 11-17 and to impact and influence the decisions that they make. Our founder, DeShawn Snow, believes that girls can be empowered and challenged to make a difference in their own lives if they are afforded the opportunity to do so. We have gathered professionals from various fields that are committed to making a difference and will provide quality instruction to build self-esteem and self-confidence in a fun and exciting environment. Girls who want to take advantage of this unique opportunity to soar should attend this camp! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Self-esteem is a buzzword. It’s an idea. It’s a concept. And, for many young American women, it doesn’t exist. So, how do you foster a girl’s self-esteem – something she never knew she was entitled to in the first place? You do it by teaching her who she is and why she is valuable. Basically, you empower her.
That’s what DeShawn Snow and the DeShawn Snow Foundation are doing through their girl-focused initiatives. Snow is a star of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta and wife of NBA great Eric Snow. But, she’s not your average socialite. This mother of three is using her star power to help build a generation of strong young women. Her foundation’s latest success carved out a space for girls between the ages of 11 and 17 to become their best selves. For one week this past summer, the foundation surrounded nearly 300 girls with enough power to light a city block. The DSF Empower Me! Camp hosted girls from all walks of life and taught them how to be strong in who they are so that they can make good life choices. [Click here to learn more about the camp workshops]
While it seems the media would have the world believe positive, productive young people are a myth, groups like the DeShawn Snow Foundation’s Angels are proof positive that there is still hope.
In partnership with the Atlanta’s Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA, the DSF Angels program has – for the second year in a row – taken a group of young women who were targeted to fail and turned their lives upside down.
The second-annual DSF Angels Retreat was a two-day event that was two years in the making. This past May, the 20-girl group gathered for this annual gathering. This event was the culmination of months of community service, cultural events, etiquette training, communications workshops and all-around leadership development.
As we begin a new school year, I would like to take this opportunity to ask each of you young ladies to think very seriously about what a crucial role a good education can play in your life.
Start this new school year with a renewed commitment to doing your absolute best!
Have you thought about your academic future? “Stay in school” is no longer just a catch phrase. It is a dire necessity in a competitive world that will not wait for anyone with less than a high school diploma. When it comes to school, I know that you have the courage to ask for help if you need it and to achieve amazing things in every area of your existence.
From learning hair care and makeup techniques from celebrity stylists to having a writing workshop facilitated by a published author to watching a one-woman show by actress Sheryl Lee Ralph to even performing in front of a crowd of several hundred people, participants of the second annual DeShawn Snow Foundation Empower Me Camp made memories to last a lifetime.
Realizing the constant struggles young girls face today include low self-esteem, an unhealthy body image and social pressures, founder DeShawn Snow designed the Empower Me Camp to help build self confidence in girls ages 11-17.
