Message from the Founder
Being a teenager for me was like being on a roller coaster with a few bumps and swift turns. There were so many ups and downs that at times I worried about fitting in. I felt like I was always faced with making the right decision. Juggling who I was against the multiple issues that teenagers face served as a constant backdrop to what felt like a never- ending saga. Often preoccupied as most teenage girls with what I wore, how I looked, and who my friends were gently defined who I was; not to mention the butterfly, stomach crunching feelings I got when I wondered how boys perceived me. An added obstacle, so I thought, was the reflection that I would have on my peers, family and friends. I had two successful professionally driven divorced parents who equally had high expectations of me to attend college, which by the way was not an option.
